Jokey, as a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging with direct contact with foodstuffs, has high quality requirements for all companies contracted by it, which - in whatever form - have contact with the products - also in packaged form - in order to protect the end consumer from health hazards. Certification of the production facilities according to the HACCP standard (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points) and the BRC Packging (British Retail Consortium/Institute of Packaging) or FSSC specifications underline this. In order to protect the hygienically complex products during transport with a focus on food safety, the following regulations apply:
Upon acceptance of the goods to be transported, the service provider undertakes not to bring Jokey's products into contact with substances or their residues that are harmful to health or hygienically unsound during storage, loading and transport. This includes, for example, odour-intensive substances, vermin, foodstuffs, chemicals, glass, medicines, building materials or similar products, which do not meet the requirements of good hygiene practice due to their properties. The service provider assures that any subcontractors used will also be contractually obliged to comply with this condition.Damage or visible manipulation of the outer packaging due to transport, reloading, external intervention or damage must be reported to the recipient and to Jokey.
Damaged products (including damage to the outer packaging) may not be reassembled or repacked, but must generally be returned to Jokey free of charge.
The equipment required for the distribution, transshipment and transport of the consignments, such as vehicles and transshipment halls, must be regularly maintained and cared for by the service provider. Each truck is to be inspected for cleanliness and preloads before loading. Jokey reserves the right to refuse vehicles in the event of non-compliance.
Special site-related rules of conduct of Jokey or Jokey's recipient customers (e.g. smoking areas, access to buildings, toilet areas) must be observed by the service provider at all times. Unauthorised entry into the production areas (including the warehouse) is not permitted.
The goods must be protected against access by unauthorised persons by the service provider during transport and, if necessary, also during interim storage. This means among other things:
Unauthorised persons are not allowed access to the loading area or to the storage areas.
Information about the transported goods will be treated confidentially and will not be disclosed to third parties under any circumstances.
During breaks and also when leaving the vehicle for a short time, care must be taken to ensure that it is adequately secured; on return, the vehicle must be checked for possible unauthorised access.
Goods that have been involved in an accident during transport may not be delivered, but must be returned to Jokey. In accordance with food safety regulations, these goods must always be assessed as a total loss.
The driver shall additionally confirm the proper handover of the goods with his signature on the acknowledgement of receipt.
The service provider shall take measures to prevent infestation with vermin. Should such infestation occur contrary to the measures taken, it must be dealt with immediately and documented.
Jokey or an independent third party commissioned by Jokey (not in direct competition with the Service Provider) is entitled to enter and inspect the Service Provider's premises and equipment where the transported goods are transported, handled, stored or treated in any other way at any time after giving reasonable advance notice of at least four weeks, during normal working hours and only in the company of Service Provider employees as part of an audit.
