“The Tour” - Jokey Group on Roadshow in Sweden

From September 5th to 9th, the Jokey Group was on the road for its customers in Sweden with the Roadshow vehicle. Stations of the five-day tour were Norrköping, Gothenburg, and Lund. In cooperation with the Scandinavian distribution partner Tara Pac AB, Jokey informed on the latest developments in recycled packaging. Top-class speakers from industry, science, politics, and society discussed current challenges in the packaging industry. Among other things, new approaches and solutions were presented on how to achieve a future circular economy with sustainable plastic packaging

The Jokey Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of rigid plastic packaging. At the beginning of September, the packaging specialist was on a customer tour in Sweden with its mobile Roadshow. "Together with our sales partner Tara Pac AB, we organised information events at three extraordinary locations, such as the Wildnis Hotel Vildmarkshotelle in Norrköping," says Dennis Lieth, Sales Director Jokey Group. "A big advantage of this event is that we are directly on site with our customers. This shortens our customers’ travel times and gives us more time for intensive discussions than is the case at trade fairs, for example. In addition, we can exchange ideas with all interested business areas such as management, purchasing, product development, production or marketing”, explains Dennis Lieth.

Focus on thin-walled packaging and the use of post-consumer recyclates (PCR)

The events in Norrköping in the east, Gothenburg in the west and Lund in the south of the Swedish Kingdom focused on topics such as light weighting of packaging in the food sector and the use of post-consumer recyclates (PCR) in the non-food sector. Current research results on chemical recycling processes compared to mechanical recycling are being discussed controversially in Sweden. "We have arranged the events on site accordingly. With the support of expert speakers, we were able to inform about packaging trends in the food and non-food sectors and in addition promote the transfer of knowledge as well as the discussion between important market participants," says Ramona Lob, Key Account Manager Jokey Group. Speakers at the information events included, for example, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's national coordinator for plastics, Asa Stenmarck, Richard Janson, development engineer at the recycling company Svensk Plaståtervinning or the adventurer and motivational trainer Aron Anderson.

"Our customers' feedback on our visit to Sweden has been thoroughly positive," Dennis Lieth is pleased to say. Open dialogues, mutual understanding, long-standing and trusting business relationships have played major roles in our company's success in Scandinavia. With our trip, we were able to strengthen the cooperation further and are already looking forward to the next visit.
