An idea that was ahead of its time
Jokey has long been manufacturing packaging for the non-food industry from recycled plastics. The post-consumer recyclates (PCR) are obtained from household collections. Our grey recyclate bucket made its first appearance back in 1991, but at that time it had not yet achieved its major breakthrough.
The well-deserved comeback of the recycling container
The attitude towards recycled materials is currently changing: today's environmentally conscious end-consumers want above all sustainable packaging. For producers, not only an ecologically valuable contribution to resource protection is important, but also high functionality and elegant design. Our recyclate containers combine both.
Complete product functionality
In principle, Jokey recycled packaging differs from packaging made of new plastics only in the grey basic colour. They offer the same product protection and have the same "new" effect on the end consumer. In addition, they can be attractively decorated with all options the in-mould-labeling process offers.
Colourful packaging design
Whether you use the grey base colour for your design or use a large label to hide it - you enjoy full design options to present your product at the PoS and win new customers by making a responsible contribution to strengthening a circular economy.
Our vision: recycled packaging as standard in the non-food sector.
With the introduction of the RAL quality mark “%-Recycled Plastics” and our recyclate campaign "grey is the new green", we are setting clear signals in this respect. Because one thing is clear: without the processing of PCR, a sustainable recycling economy cannot be achieved.
Special recyclates
Jokey is a partner of the Waste Free Oceans (WFO) initiative and is also developing packaging with components made of Ocean Based Recycled Plastics (OBRP). These originate from post-use input flows from the maritime industry in the Mediterranean region and the North Sea. The aim is to prevent the disposal of old fishing nets or rigid plastic waste in the sea by taking them back.
Recyclate as messenger
We have started producing our sea-blue Oceanplastic containers in 2019. They contain 25% OBRP and 75% PCR. The printed appeal "keep nature clean" is intended to encourage young people in particular to behave in a more environmentally conscious manner. Therefore, we initially used the RAL-certified buckets as waste collection containers in schools.
