Jokey France sets the course for the future

A fully automated high-bay warehouse, an expansion of production capacity and its own photovoltaic system: after a two-year construction phase, Jokey France can now significantly increase its performance and energy efficiency. The photovoltaic system, which will be ready for use in summer, further reduces the CO2 footprint of production.

With a high degree of precision, three cranes glide autonomously between the 25-meter high racks storing and retrieving pallets - this height allows 10 pallet levels to be stored on top of each other.  In total, about 7,500 pallet spaces are stored on an area of 2,000 sqm. The new high-tech high-bay warehouse operates 24/7.

Efficient warehouse logistics and expanded production capacities

Thanks to the highly technical and carefully coordinated processes in the warehouse logistics, 80 pallets can be stored per hour. 18 roller conveyors are used for pre-picking the finished pallets and are designed for six trucks.

Jokey France was able to carry out the construction work, which lasted from 2018 to 2020, during ongoing production. The space made available by the move to the new high-bay warehouse was used to expand production. This will allow new production lines to be set up in the future.

Solar power consistently implements the Jokey sustainability strategy

In addition to the expansion of storage and production capacities, Jokey is also investing in a photovoltaic system, which should be completed by summer. The solar modules installed on 1,800 square metres will generate their own electricity in the future, which will be fed into the factory. In the process, the plant creates a maximum output of 267-kilowatt peak (kWp).

Jokey invests 5.2 million in energy-efficient and energy-saving technologies

"With the renovation measures, we will be able to significantly increase our storage and production capacities. Jokey France is focusing on growth and wants to be a high-performance partner for our customers," emphasises Markus Blumenschein, Managing Director at Jokey France. "The Jokey Group is also investing in further energy-saving measures at the Labourse site with the installation of a photovoltaic system. Together with the introduction of the latest conveyor technology in the high-bay warehouse, we are thus consistently implementing the sustainability strategy laid down in the Jokey Eco Concept 2.0 in a further plant at production level. In this way, we are moving gradually towards our goal of leading the Jokey Group to climate neutrality by 2030".
