Jokey Wipperfürth and Jokey Gummersbach are now European stock corporations
The Jokey Group, one of the leading international manufacturers of plastic packaging, is changing the legal form of its parent plants in Wipperfürth and Gummersbach. The shareholders have decided to convert the two companies from a GmbH to a Societas Europaea (SE).
The conversion into the SE corporation, which is based on European law, does not entail any change in the shareholder structure. Jokey's shareholders are still members of the Kemmerich family, which has been managing the company for three generations now.
The head office will remain in Wipperfürth. Chairman of the SE Board of Directors is Herbert Kemmerich, founding partner and long-standing CEO. Deputy Chairman is Ralf Kemmerich, who represents the founding family in the third generation and continues to represent the family as COO and Managing Director in an operational leadership role of the SE. Dr. Peter Köhler was appointed as the third member of the new SE Board of Directors. The physicist, who has a doctorate in physics, contributes his many years of successful international experience from various management positions, including at the Weidmüller Group.
The SE's managing directors, consisting of CEO Jens Stadter, COO Ralf Kemmerich and the two long-standing managing directors Peter Dörmbach CFO and Christof Kölschbach CSO, are responsible for the operative business.
The family business Jokey currently has 15 plants in 12 countries. In addition to its locations in Germany, Jokey also has production sites in France, Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Serbia, Belarus and Russia. The latest acquisition of Treplás S.L. has been strengthening business operations in Spain since 2017. Jokey supplies the North African market from its plants in Algeria and Egypt, and the North American market from Canada. The growing group of companies employs around 2,000 people worldwide and supplies customers in over 90 countries.
