We are looking for a Production Manager for our manufacturing site based in Corby who will direct all aspects of production activity to ensure that the desired quantities and quality of products are manufactured on schedule, in a safe manner, at minimum cost.

Position Summary

This role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, where quality and precision is vital.

Key Responsibilities

·         Site-wide leadership of all operational aspects of the plant

·         Define and enforce clear areas of ownership and accountability across all functional levels in the site; establishing clear plans to close performance gaps where they may exist.

·         Develop and share  a trusting relationship with your workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff training, in cooperation with our headquarters in Germany.

·         Work with other functional leadership within the business to ensure Operations are aligned to strategic objectives, and that capacity is proactively planned and managed.

·         Focus on achieving cost reductions and increased profitability, through the ethos of driving continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.

·         Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance.

·         Develop and challenge the production team to embed the LEAN tools, techniques and leadership behaviors – be an ambassador for the continuous improvement program.

·         Increasing production, assets, capacity and flexibility, while minimizing unnecessary costs, and maintaining current quality standards.

·         Ensure that a thorough and effective health, safety and environment management program is in place, and functioning.

·         Ensure that the site operates in accordance with its externally accredited quality management system (ISO 45001 and 9001) meeting customer expectations on product quality and supply.

·         Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.

·         Responsibility for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.

·         ‘Own’ the numbers for the plant, and have a detailed understanding and plan for cost management, while delivering on EBIT commitments. Involvement in detailed budgeting and forecasting activities, utilizing financial management tools to ensure reliability in our reporting.

Support high levels of customer service through complaint and assurance visits where necessary

Education

A degree in engineering or related technical discipline is an advantage.

Professional Experience and Competencies

·         A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a production, manufacturing, or logistics environment.

·         A results-oriented management style; able to create a clear expectation and accountability system throughout the plant; proven change management skills.

·         Strong financial acumen, able to see cause and effect between operational decisions and financial outcomes; solid understanding of the impact of operating metrics on income statement, and cash flow.

·         Outstanding leadership skills, demonstrated through championing accountability, maximizing team and individual strengths, seeking and implementing change, and aligning with critical business objectives. Able to mentor, motivate, influence and persuade others.

·         Experience in developing functional leaders, and in driving safety, quality and performance in their areas of responsibility.

·         Experience in world class lean manufacturing techniques, and their application into a manufacturing environment.
